Kristen Abbott
With over 20 years experience as a dancer Kristen has a unique and effective advantage to offer her clients through pilates instruction. With an amazing eye and understanding of how the body moves, Kristen does more than improve clients balance, flexability, strength and weight. She is able to work towards correcting poor posture, neuromusclular imbalances and reduce pain patterns that can severely impact peoples lives. Having studied Pilates' most recognized accreditation through the physical mind institute 9 years ago, Kristen has evolved into a master instructor teaching in Orlando, Australia and now Indiana. Kristen is always conitnuing to learn and evolve by attending regular courses around the United States with some of Pilates most well known figures. Reforming Indy was founded in 2007 by Kristen and her husband Michael to teach pilates the way it was intended and they have adhered to the strictest standards ever since. She is also a strong believer in passing on her knowledge to her own instructors to maximize the experience for every client of Reforming Indy.
Deidra Geller
Deidra graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Dance. She began Pilates training in 1997 in Atlanta and was Certified in 1998 by Pilates, Inc. under Romana Kryzanowska, one of Joseph Pilates' original students. Deidra then went on to expand her knowledge by completing an Equine Certification in 2004, specialized training for dressage horse riders and hunter/jumper horse riders, followed by becoming certified in contemporary and rehabilitative Pilates through Resolution Physical Therapy and Pilates. After working at Resolution as a Master instructor Deidra went on to help open and run two Pilates studios in Atlanta and most recently spent two years teaching in Florida. It was here that Deidra worked with many golfers and other professional athletes. "I believe Pilates is for everyone, all ages and levels. Everyone can benefit from the couch potato person who has never exercised to the professional athlete."
Tod Baker
Tod attended Ball State University receiving his Bachelors degree in Dance performance. He started his pilates training in 1993 while at Ball State. He went on to dance and perform professionally for 15 yrs including theme parks, Broadway tours, and Royal Caribbean cruise line (where he would also teach the dancers pilates.) He received his certifications from Pilates Institute of Australia and Body Arts and Science. International. " I truly believe in the power of Pilates, it can change your life". Tod also teaches dance here in Indy because he wants dance to always be apart of his life. Tod has been with Reforming Indy from the beginning and has proven himself to be an amazing instructor loved by his clients!
Lisa Eppen
Having taken Pilates as a student since 1994, lisa decided in 2008 that she needed to turn this passion into a career and has vigirously pursued all the knowledge she can find to make herself a great instructor. Lisa's personality and amazing energy make her a special instructor which is evident by her growing client list . Also certified as a zumba and meditation instructor, Lisa is a great addition to our line up of unique teachers.
Merryl Cohen
After receiving an undergraduate degree from Indiana University in telecommunications and a graduate degree in Business Marketing, Merryl discovered her true love in health and fitness. She has since pursued her career in this arena, being involved in the industry for the last 12 years. With advanced certifications in spinning and a 450 hour pilates certification through PHI Pilates, she offers a well-rounded perspective of health and fitness. With the philosophy of "work hard but work smart", she works with clients to help them find and achieve their own personal goals in fitness, whether they are large or small. With a love of teaching, she loves to share the principals of pilates and her goal is to help people to become stronger and to build awareness of their own bodies. She believes in the power of pilates to help people to move better, feel better and ultimately look better by increasing strength and flexibility and improving posture!
Molly Corcoran
Molly graduated in 2003 from Indiana University with a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications but in 2005 discovered her true calling in Pilates. Molly has since completed her certification with Balance Body, the industry leader, in hopes that she can help other people find or achieve their personal fitness goals.
She continues her education through courses and conferences throughout the Midwest. With her knowledge, she plans to help people become stronger and to develop an awareness of their own bodies. "I truly believe in the power of pilates because I've seen it transform people's body completely!"
Michael Abbott
Michael is an Australian Massage Therapist who has been in practice for 9 years. After completing his two year diploma, he began working at Australia's premier sports massage clinic treating professional athletes and Olympians. His travels have taken him to England, Alaska, Hawaii, and now Indiana where he lives with his wife. Michael believes in putting to use all modalities of massage at his disposal to achieve the best results he can for each client.
He has been a member of the professional bodies AAMT and ABMP and continues to further his education through continuing education courses. Working at The Wellness Center inside Seland Chiropractic on Allisionville road in Fishers, Michael has built up a clientele of people who know the difference between an average and great masseur.
